Utah Resident Freshmen Scholarships

Utah Tech University awards Academic Scholarships to first time freshman who are fully admitted by deadline based on their unweighted cumulative High School GPA or index score.

How to calculate an Index Score: Unweighted GPA x 10 = GPA score + highest ACT Composite

(EX: 3.5 GPA x 10 = 35 GPA Score + 30 ACT = 65 Index Score

Students are awarded merit scholarships with and without consideration to the ACT or SAT tests. However, if you do not submit a test score they are still required in determining placement in Math and English.

UT offers the College Placement Test which, though not required for merit scholarships, is helpful in determining placement in Math and English. For information, dates, cost and exclusions, please go to the Testing Center.

The GED, HiSET, and any other High School Equivalency make students ineligible for Incoming Freshman Scholarships.

Western Undergraduate Exchange Awards

Fall 2022 Western Undergraduate Exchange Award offers have been made! Students can view their scholarship offer after claiming their NetID and reviewing their Admissions Student Checklist in their MyInfo Portal. The Western Undergraduate Exchange Scholarship is MSU’s second highest-value award, therefore making it among the most competitive at Montana State University. Due to the high-value of the WUE Scholarship, MSU has limited spots available for WUE students.

MSU will be offering a limited number of Western Undergraduate Exchange scholarships to new freshmen enrolling in the fall of 2022. Students from eligible WUE states* that submitted the Blue & Gold Scholarship Application by January 1st, 2022 will automatically be considered for WUE.

The final value for WUE at this time has not been finalized. WUE will equal 1.5 times the in-state tuition rate which will not be determined until May at the Montana Board of Regents meeting. All recipients will be notified as soon as that value is available via email and updated on this site. WUE will be a greater value than any Achievement Award previously offered.

The deadline for WUE scholarship consideration has passed for freshmen enrolling in the fall of 2022.

Notification for WUE awards went out in February, 2022. Only students that are awarded WUE have been notified.

WUE is not stackable with Achievement Awards and we will award you the scholarship of greater value. Please note, only recipients of awards will be notified.

    What Is A Scholarship Index

A scholarship index is a database that serves as a visual resource for prospective students, faculty members, and administrative departments at a university or institution. It is sometimes referred to as a scholarship database. Students use the scholarship index to choose where to apply for scholarships and which scholarships are the most appropriate for them.

Additionally, students can narrow down the search results based on the amount of the scholarship, the sort of degree they wish to pursue, and whether the award is currently open or closed. Meanwhile, faculty members and the administrative department consult the scholarship index in order to broaden the scope and options for funding as well as to foster collaboration between different institutions.

Scholarship awards are grants or payments made to students who are enrolled in private or public schools, colleges, or universities in order to help them pay for their education expenses. Different sorts of scholarships are awarded to different students, including athletic, merit-based, need-based, career-specific, and last-dollar scholarships, among other types of financial aid.
