What To Do If The University Receives Your Check

If your check is sent to the institution, it will be applied to your student account, one-half in the fall term, one-half in the winter term, unless the sponsor specifies otherwise. Payments are usually processed within two weeks of the start of each term, upon full-time registration. If the payment creates a credit balance on your student account, the credit will be released to you either by check or direct deposit to your bank account.

What If I Don’t Have A Friend Account

For admitted students who have not yet enrolled at the university, a Friend Account is required to access all university systems, including the LSA Scholarships application portal.

If you do not have a Friend Account, you can request one here.

Once you have created your Friend Account, you will also need to get it authorized to use university systems. To do this, go to Wolverine Access. Click on the Students tab, then on New & Prospective Student Business, and log in using your newly created Friend Account ID and password. Verify your personal information, including your eight-digit UMID, which was emailed to you, as well as your birth date.

Once you have requested your friend account and authorized it, you will have access to our application system .

Note: Once you create a new Friend Account and authorize it by verifying your personal information, it may take 24 hours for your new account information to migrate to our application system, granting you access to the application.

The University of Michigan-Dearborn Employee Scholarship provides scholarship support of 25% of assessed tuition and fees that benefit the staff and faculty of the entire University of Michigan System who attend the University of Michigan-Dearborn as a degree seeking undergraduate or graduate student.

The Penelope W And E Roe Stamps Scholarship

The Stamps Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to incoming U-M students that demonstrate exceptional talent, leadership qualities, academic achievement, and a commitment to their community. Each year, the College of LSA nominates a select number of incoming LSA students to receive this award from the pool of Four-Year Renewable Scholarship applicants. Stamps Scholars receive a renewable scholarship for four consecutive years of undergraduate study and the amounts can go up to the full cost of attendance.

In addition to tuition support, Stamp Scholars receive additional funding of up to $5,000 to support study abroad, community service, research, and internships during their undergraduate studies. Other benefits including membership in the UM Stamps Scholars Society, membership in the national Stamps Scholars organization, strong networking connections, and the opportunity to attend bi-annual Stamps Scholars National Conventions.

To be considered for the Stamps Scholarship, early action admitted LSA students must complete the Four-Year Renewable Scholarship application. Only students who are nominated for this award will be notified. Students who are not selected for this award will still be considered for all other Four-Year Renewable Scholarships they are qualified for.

  • Applicants must be a declared history major or minor upon acceptance at UM-Flint.
  • Applicants must complete at least 12 credits in history in the first year of the scholarship.
  • Scholarships will be applied directly to the recipients tuition account for the fall and winter semesters.
  • The Scholarship Selection Committee will be comprised of no fewer than three faculty members from the History Department.

For scholarship extension to the second year:

  • Completion of 12 credits in history at UM-Flint during the first year with an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in history courses at UM-Flint.
  • Applicants must be a declared history major or minor and take at least 6 credits in history in the second year of scholarship.

The application process has four steps.

Step one: Verify your Friend Account in Wolverine Access. Instructions to do this are below under the question: How do I verify a Friend Account? If you have forgotten your Friend Account password, you can reset it here. If you do not have a Friend Account, you can create one here.

Step two: Once your Friend Account is verified, click the button below and log in to the LSA Scholarships application portal by using your Friend Account ID and password. If you do not verify your account, you will not be able to log in.

Step three: Complete our general application. When asked which scholarship program you are applying to, click the box for the “Four-Year Renewable Scholarship.”

Step four: Once the general application has been submitted, you will then be directed to complete the application for the Four-Year Renewable Scholarship program. Submit this application for full consideration.

Msu Michigan Resident Scholarship

The MSU Michigan Resident Scholarship designates award levels for in-state students based on high school GPA at the end of junior year. Scholarship values range from approximately $500 to $1,500 annually for eight semesters. In-state students who apply to MSU as a freshman are automatically considered. Scholarship recipients may also be eligible for additional merit-based scholarships at MSU.

The Alvin M And Arvella D Bentley Scholarship

The Alvin M. and Arvella D. Bentley Foundation established the Bentley Scholarship Program in 1983 to recognize and encourage public service in students from the state of Michigan.

The Bentley Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to incoming LSA students who are Michigan residents, demonstrated high academic achievement and leadership during high school, and are interested in a career in public service. Each year, 68 incoming LSA students are invited to campus to interview to receive this award. These students are selected from the pool of Four-Year Renewable Scholarships applicants. Of these candidates, 2 recipients are selected to receive the Bentley Scholarship.

Bentley Scholarship recipients receive a renewable scholarship for four consecutive years of undergraduate study in the amount of $15,000 per year.

To be considered for the Bentley Scholarship, early action admitted LSA students must complete the Four-Year Renewable Scholarship application. Only students who are nominated for this award will be notified. Students who are not selected for this award will still be considered for all other Four-Year Renewable Scholarships they are qualified for.

Western Michigan University Names New Provost Vice President Of Academic Affairs

KALAMAZOO, MI Western Michigan University announced Thursday that it has named Julian Vasquez Heilig as its next provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Vasquez Heilig is currently employed as the dean of the University of Kentuckys College of Education, where has led the charge to raise the colleges profile and championed strategies that helped increase enrollment and diversity, according to a Thursday, Nov. 17 news release from WMU.

Vasquez Heilig will begin his tenure at Western Michigan University on Jan. 4, pending approval from the WMU Board of Trustees. The board is expected to consider the appointment at its December meeting.

If approved by the board, Vasquez Heilig will inherit a role previously held by Jennifer Bott, who resigned from the position to return to teaching as a faculty member at the universitys Haworth College of Business.

    Admission Process For The Stamps Scholarship

    Students applying to the University of Michigan do not apply for a Stamps Scholarship. Rather, prospective students of high academic achievement, who have been admitted as first-year undergraduates no later than February 1, will be selected for the Stamps Scholarship by the six schools and colleges that admit freshmen. Recipients are notified each spring.

    The six schools and colleges that admit freshmen at Michigan are:
