Raymond R And Beverly K Shevchik Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time or part time undergraduate student majoring in speech, language and hearing sciences.
The recipient shall have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at the time of application.
Preference shall be given to eligible students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid academic merit shall be a secondary consideration.
- The amounts of individual endowed scholarship awards are determined by the awarding department based upon the endowment’s available spendable dollars.

Anthony Defeo Endowment Award For Clinical Studies
The Anthony B. DeFeo Endowment Award for Clinical Studies in Speech-Language Pathology was established by friends and family of Dr. DeFeo. Anthony B. DeFeo, Clinic Director from 1981-2008, developed an extraordinary career that exemplified the translation of science into service. Dr. DeFeos clinical and research activities centered on identification, evaluation and treatment of pediatric communication disorders especially those related to syndromic and other atypical clinical presentations. He was also involved in developing several evidence-based treatment programs for all ages in the departments several clinics.
Applicants to the Master of Science Program in Speech-Language Pathology who are accepted into graduate training at The University of Arizona and will be taking classes at UA in the upcoming year are eligible for this award.

Dr Frances Lohr Speech Pathology And Audiology Endowment
WMU’s Dr. Frances Lohr Speech Pathology and Audiology Endowment has been established to honor a former professor in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. It provides supplemental funding for a graduate student assistantship. The amount of the supplemental funding may be over and above or partially in place of the standard graduate assistantship salary and stipend amounts as determined annually by the WMU Graduate College.
The recipient shall have a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
The awardee’s academic activity should be primarily related to clinical education or directly facilitate departmental activities related to clinical activities.
Scholarship And Other External Funding
The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at Vanderbilt currently has five active scholarships as well as a range of external funding from government training grants. There is no separate application process for scholarships and funding. All admitted students are considered for tuition assistance and every effort is made to match students with appropriate funding opportunities.
Cumberland Bilingual Spanish Speech Scholarship

Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program
Students are encouraged to apply for major scholarships, particularly OGS that recognizes academic excellence in graduate studies at the masters and doctoral levels in all disciplines of academic study. The OGS program at the University of Toronto is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and the University of Toronto. The value of an OGS award is $5000 per term. Thus, awardees may receive $10,000 for two consecutive terms or $15,000 for three consecutive terms. The Faculty of Medicine will contribute up to one third of the cost of the total award received by students.
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is responsible for nominating applicants for OGS awards through the Admissions and Awards Committee. Applications are solicited annually and the School of Graduate Studies finalizes the recipients. Applications are submitted on-line directly to SGS. Students are limited in the number of years that they may hold an OGS. Masters students may receive the scholarship for a maximum of two years.
The deadline to submit applications is normally mid-March. The deadline for the 2022-2023 academic year is March 15, 2023. In July, SGS will notify recipients and provide further details about how to activate and manage the award.

Speech Pathology Majors embark on the noble pursuit of helping children and adults with speech disorder or delays learn how to communicate more clearly and effectively. But, before they can begin their work as a pathologist or pathology assistant, Speech Pathology Majors must first pay for their college education. Luckily, a number of scholarships are available. Some scholarships are offered by nonprofit organizations and funds such as National AMBUCS, Inc. and the Dennis Klatt Memorial Fund. Others are offered by the individual colleges and universities with Speech Pathology programs such as Ball State University, Emerson College, Idaho State University and Northern Arizona University.
