Rare Scholarships For Hispanic Students In The Us
Scholarships for Hispanic Students in the US: In recent years, Hispanic students in the US have expressed a strong desire to pursue their education at higher degrees. There is a growing trend indicating that they increasingly enrol in several accredited colleges in US. Interestingly, based on the data issued by the Pew Research Centre, there were around 2.3 million Hispanic students between the ages of 18 and 24 studying in a two-year or four-year degree program in 2014.
The data itself shows us that there was increasing willingness of the people to pursue their education at college/university level since 90s. Not only that, this figure also demonstrates a growing Hispanic population and tremendous decline of the peoples drop out from high schools. Such a fact is also echoed by the National Centre of Education Statistics that Hispanic students increased from 4% to 17% from 1976 up to 2015.
Sadly, despite such a thrilling fact, many of the Hispanic students come from low-income families who must ultimately pay rising tuition rates, thereby forcing them to take loans to support the payment and take shorter degrees in order to minimise the expenses. It is well known that almost half of all Hispanic students would choose a two-year degree so the cost will be more affordable.
Interestingly, many scholarships for Hispanic minority are awarded to those interested in pursuing their degree in engineering major, or more broadly, STEM.
