Children who have an active, reserve or retired Coast Guard parent are eligible for a scholarship through the Coast Guard Foundation. These scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000. Over 150 scholarships were awarded in 2021.

#2: Hope For The Warriors Scholarships
Hope For The Warriors is an organization whose unique scholarship program celebrates and rewards the spouses and caregivers of post-9/11 veterans. Since its inception in 2006, the program has awarded over 140 scholarships totaling more than $412,000 an average of more than $2,900 per scholarship.
Currently, there are five scholarships available through the Hope For The Warriors foundation:
- The Honorary Scholarship for post-grad and graduate students
- The New Beginnings scholarship for students pursuing an associates degree
- The Restoring Family Scholarship, which is only available for Gold Star Spouses

Children of veterans may apply for the Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship for based financial assistance to help them earn their first undergraduate degree. Scholarships may be awarded for four academic years, but candidates must meet eligibility criteria and reapply every year. This years application period runs from January 1 through April 1, 2022.
The financial need determines the scholarship award. Undergraduate students under 23 and pursuing a four-year degree are eligible for the scholarship. A grade point average of 2.0 is required. Each scholarship award depends on several factors, including the number of applicants, total scholarships approved, the applicants expected family contribution , and the average cost of attending a college or university in the US .

Military Spouse Finra Fellowship Program
The Military Spouse Fellowship program is sponsored by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Investor Education Foundation. The program produces a monthly stipend to military spouses that participate in a training program that makes them an Accredited Financial Counselor .
The training helps teach marketable job skills, knowledge, tools, and resources that help a military family overcome financial struggles.
How to apply: The Military Spouse FINRA Fellowship Program is a little different from other scholarships listed in this article since it deals with certification training as opposed to receive a vocational or undergraduate degree. Please check with a qualifying AFC certificate program for more information.

Amount: Up to $12,000 across four years

Like the National Service Foundation Scholarships, this scholarship is for undergraduate coursework. To apply you must complete the FAFSA, provide SAT or ACT scores, and write a 350- to 500-word essay, among other requirements.

The Army Scholarship Foundation
Scholarships from the Army Scholarship Foundation average $1,000 and are awarded on an annual basis. Awards are available for undergraduate students attending an accredited college.
To be eligible for this award, students must have a parent who is an active or veteran army servicemember. They must have at least a 2.0 grade point average , not already have a bachelorâs degree and be younger than 24 when the application deadline occurs.
Military Order Of The Purple Heart
Scholarships of up to $3,000 are available through the Military Order of the Purple Heart to dependents of disabled veterans who have received the Purple Heart for injuries received in action and are MOPH members. A disabled veterans child, stepchild, adopted child, or grandchild must have a grade point average of at least 2.75 on a scale of 4.0, and the child must be a biological child, stepchild, adopted child, or grandchild.

Afcea War Veterans Scholarship
The War Veterans Scholarship is awarded by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association . It provides financial relief to active duty uniformed military service members as well as honorably discharged veterans that served in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
The scholarship is open twice a year, and provides merit-based scholarships of $2,500.
How to apply: The primary stipulation is the veteran must be enrolled in an accredited STEM-related degree program at an accredited 4 year college or university.
