Individual Costs And Budgeting Aid

  • Individual costs are based on estimates and used to determine financial need, which means these expenses may vary. You will be billed directly for University tuition and fees, on-campus housing, on-campus meal plans, student insurance and books billed through Student Stores, and your aid will be applied to that bill. Youll want to choose housing and meal plans before school begins, which allows your financial aid package to cover those expenses.
  • Even if you have not yet received your financial aid award, you can go ahead and start planning by estimating what your aid may look like using the Net Price Calculator. For the most accurate estimate, enter your information as it appeared on your aid application.
  • Once you receive your financial aid offer, you will be able to see if you owe the University money or if you will receive a refund. You can use our budgeting calculator to estimate cost by semester and calculate what you may owe so you can plan accordingly.
  • We recommend visiting the cashiers website to see what your actual billed tuition and fee charges will be.

Ferris State University Scholarships

Scholarships that are awarded to students directly from Ferris State University, such as Woodbridge N. Ferris Scholarships, are applied directly to student billing accounts each semester that the student qualifies for the scholarship. Because the University bills for one semester at a time, annual scholarship amounts are typically divided in half and applied equally to Fall and Spring semester bills. For example, a $1000 Ferris Achievement Scholarship would be divided in half, and the student would receive a credit of $500 towards his or her Fall charges and a $500 credit towards Spring charges. Scholarships apply to student accounts approximately two weeks after each semester begins.
