One of the ways that the Winston-Salem Foundation has been able to help students is through the Annie S. Alexander Memorial Scholarship. Available to any African American student, with preference going to those from Winston-Salem, the Annie S. Alexander Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 in order to provide financial support to minority students interested in seeking out an education in nursing. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must demonstrate high academic performance while also choosing to enroll in an undergraduate in nursing degree.
