The American Association of University Women is a notable organization that advocates for the education of women. Their goal is to eliminate economic barriers so that all women can acquire an excellent education.

The AAUW provides funding for over 245 fellowships and grants totaling over $3.7 million.

There are seven distinct fellowship categories available. Included is an International Fellowship for study or research at full-time in the United States.

It is offered to women who are neither United States citizens nor permanent residents. This is a wonderful option for women from all over the world.

The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Award

The Patsy Takemoto Mink award honors Patsy Takemoto, who served in Congress and was the first woman of color to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Her foundation was launched in 2003 and has, since, helped low-income women and, particularly, mothers afford educational costs. To be eligible, you have to be a mother entering a vocational training course or pursuing your associates or bachelors degree, and your income cannot exceed $20,000 for a family of two or $28,000 for a family of four. You must also be at least 17 years old, but there’s no age cap on this award. The women winners are chosen based on their financial need, their personal history and their future goals.

Return 2 College Scholarship Program

This one-thousand-dollar scholarship is available to anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 who will be attending college in the upcoming academic year or is already enrolled.

You are required to submit a three-sentence essay describing why you wish to earn your degree. Dont worry if you wish to submit more than three phrases you can submit as many as you like. The scholarship is applicable to all educational levels.

Newcombe Scholarship For Mature Women Students

  • The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation provides grants to women over 25 years old who want to pursue a college degree. These grants help mature women students avoid excessive reliance on student loans. The average grant award is $2,390. The grant is limited to universities and four-year colleges. Women who have earned at least 60 credits toward a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for help. Funding is disbursed directly to the college or university and applied to the student’s account.

    William Bingham 2nd Scholarship For Adult Learners Fund

    William Bingham was a self-effacing philanthropist who lived in Bethel, Maine. During his lifetime, Mr. Bingham provided funds for many Maine students to pay for their education, including Edmund Muskie and Dr. Daniel Hanley. At Mr. Binghams death, his will created the Betterment Fund, a private foundation dedicated to residents of the state of Maine. This scholarship was opened in 2017 in honor of William B. Winship, who retired as a trustee of the Betterment Fund after 40 years of service.

    This renewable scholarship supports residents of Oxford, Franklin, and Somerset counties who are adult learners returning to school to continue their education at the post-secondary level. The fund supports post-secondary education in its broadest interpretation, which includes enrollment in traditional two- and four-year colleges and universities, but could also apply to certificate programs and other professional or technical training opportunities

    Application to the Bingham fund is handled through the Adult Learner Scholarship.

    Bk Krenzer Memorial Re

    Eligibility: To be eligible for the scholarship

    • Applicant must be a woman, who has been out of school and job market for a period of at least two years.
    • Applicants must be enrolled in computer science in a CSAB-accredited program at SWE-approved institution or an ABET-accredited institution or in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at universities and colleges approved by SWE.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

    David R Woodling Memorial Scholarship

    Eligibility

    • Legal resident of New Mexico for at least one year
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Accepted into a Metals Technology program at an accredited institution

    Nontraditional students who are planning to pursue a degree in Metals Technology can apply for the David R. Woodling Memorial Scholarship. Administered by The Stocker Foundation, this award offers up to $4,600 to one or two students. Note that the application essay is required to include details about relevant experience in the field or an explanation of why you have chosen the field. Apply for this scholarship by June 4th.

    A Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

    The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is a program for which women over 40 might qualify.     The Linda Lael Miller Foundation

    The Linda Lael Miller Foundation offers funds to working women in America. They provide scholarships to women over the age of 25 that reside in the US or Canada. They must be attending an accredited college or university in Canada or the US.

    Federal Education Grants For Adult Students

    The Federal government provides a wide range of financial aid opportunities for students of all ages, including both loans and grants. These financial aid programs are regularly utilized by college-bound high school graduates, but are also open to returning adult students. There are two specific Federal education grants that can benefit adult learners.

    • The Federal Pell Grant This government funded grant remains the most popular form of financial aid for college students. Maximum awards are $5,500 per academic year.

    The Talbots Charitable Foundation offers a grant to women who are returning to college. Talbots Charitable Foundation is affiliated with the Talbots store, which is a womenâs clothing retailer.

    Recipients of the grant will receive either $10,000 to $30,000 to cover the costs of school, a Talbots gift card, and a Reinvention Resume Plus eKit.
