Students may be pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree program and must be an enlisted member of a Kansas Air/Army National Guard unit. Full-time enrollment not required. Student must have a GED or high school diploma to qualify for this assistance. The member must have less than 20 years of service with the National Guard and not already have obtained a bachelors degree.

Delta Theta Chi Sorority

Applications for three scholarships, three in the amount of $1,600 are being accepted by DELTA THETA CHI SORORITY, a national non-collegiate educational sorority.

Requirements call for the student to reside in the United States, have a high scholastic average, show evidence of financial need, currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college along with an application form, and attachments as specified by the National Executive Council. These scholarships are awarded annually to students of promise and distinction.

All applications must be completed and returned to a Chapter of Delta Theta Chi Sorority.

Gccca Receives Recognition From Kansas Board Of Regents

2022Garden City Career Connections Academy was one of two adult education programs recognized by the Kansas Board of Regents this year at the Workforce Innovations Conference on October 4, 2022. Out of the 20 adult education programs in Kansas, GCCCA was highlighted for “outstanding commitment to education and employment” and for “collaboration and support of workforce partnerships”. GCCC and GCCCA have an excellent partnership with Tyson Fresh Meats in which Tyson employees can continue their education through GCCCA without leaving the Tyson facility, thanks to a mobile classroom.

The Kansas County Clerks’ and Election Officials’ Association awards scholarships annually to Kansas high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores, provided they carry a minimum 3.0 GPA. This scholarship provides funding for up to 32 Kansas residents per year who display financial need and who agree to practice family medicine in a designated underserved area of Kansas.

To be considered for this scholarship, which can provide up to $25,000 per year in funding, students must complete both the FAFSA and the program application.

Participating medical students must sign a promissory note that will obligate them to repay the money as if it were a loan with interest accruing when the money was originally awarded should the student fail to fulfill the service requirements following completion of school.

A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing any associate’s or bachelor’s degree program emphasizing Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement. Areas of study that will be considered include Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Sociology with Law/Criminal emphasis, Corrections, Computer Forensics, and Forensic Psychology among others.

Liberal Arts & General Studies

The number of awards given out in terms of this scholarship program differs every year.

Every one of the awards can be renewed and the deadline for the submission of applications is May of any given year. Those applying for the scholarship are subject to at least the following eligibility requirements:
