Strengthening The Capacity Of Medical Services: Incentivizing Retired Physicians Program
The Department of Health and Community Services and the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association have signed an agreement to pilot a one-year program that aims to encourage retired family physicians to reactivate their medical licence to strengthen the capacity of medical services throughout Newfoundland and Labrador by expanding the pool of locums in family practice.
Incentives offered under this program include:
- Full reimbursement of the physicians liability insurance as required by the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
- Full reimbursement of all licensing and registration fees from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and the College of Family Physicians of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Waiver of NLMA membership fees.

Kansas Board Of Regents
The Kansas Board of Regents offers grants in the amount of $2,500 per year for licensed practical nurse programs and $3,500 per year for registered nurse programs to Kansas residents accepted by or already enrolled in a Kansas nursing program as a full-time nursing student.
The recipient must practice as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse in Kansas after graduation, for a minimum of one year of service per year of scholarship support.
