Every spring, eligible Lake Region State College students are invited to join Phi Theta Kappa. This is a society of scholars focused on improving educational standards.

Many members enjoy the perks of this society through a variety of scholarships. This year, LRSC student and Phi Theta Kappa member Michaela Osborne received a very prestigious award.

Osborne has received the 2019 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. The Leaders of Promise award is $1,000 in scholarship. Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars are selected based on outstanding academic achievement and demonstrations of leadership potential. This scholarship is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. This Program recognizes 200 Phi Theta Kappa members with awards totaling $200,000.

This years recipients were selected by a panel of independent judges from nearly 900 applicants. This program was launched in 2001 to assist new Phi Theta Kappa members in obtaining an associate degree and encourage participation in Society programs. The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship is most relevant today as the organization, colleges and communities actively encourage the completion of a college credential, an associate degree or certificate among college students.

Michaelas dedication, leadership skills, and hard work made her a worthy candidate for this award as well as have set her up for success.

Congratulations to Phi Theta Kappa student Annemarie Rider who has been selected as a 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Leaders of Promise Scholarship, sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, recognizes 200 Phi Theta Kappa members with awards totaling $200,000. Twenty-five of these scholarships are earmarked for society members who are active personnel or veterans of the U.S. Military.

This years recipients were selected by a panel of independent judges from more than 1,300 applicants. Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars are selected based on outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential.

Two Northwest College Students Selected As Coca

Northwest College students Bailee Moore and Lexi Wagner are two of the Phi Theta Kappa members nationwide who have been selected as the 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars.

The award comes with a $1,000 scholarship.

Phi Theta Kappa is one of the premier honor societies that recognize the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges, helping them grow as leaders and scholars.

The society is made up of more than 3.8 million members and has nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 countries with approximately 240,000 active members in the nations colleges.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new PTK members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential.

More than 1,300 applications were received.

Wcc Phi Theta Kappa Student Named 2022 Coca

Michael Broda Jr. has been selected as a 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar.

WILKESBORO Wilkes Community College Early College High School student, Michael Broda Jr. has been selected as a 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. More than 1,300 applications were received. Broda, a member of the WCC Phi Theta Kappa chapter, was one of the 207 Phi Theta Kappa members chosen for this scholarship.

Broda states, My future plans are to graduate from WCC with my Associate in Arts degree and graduate from WECHS with my NC Academic Scholars Diploma. In August 2023, I will attend South Dakota School of Mines and Technology to obtain a bachelors degree in Business Management in Technology & minor in Mechanical Engineering. I will use this scholarship money to help further my education.

The funds provided by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation not only aid college completion but also give students the opportunity to engage in Society programs and develop leadership skills to become future leaders in their communities.

Maurice Whan receives scholarship for outstanding academic and community achievement.

Northampton Community College student, Maurice Whan, was named a Phi Theta Kappa 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. He was one of 207 individuals to win the award out of more than 1,300 applicants.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new PTK members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. As a scholar, he will receive a $1,000 scholarship, to which Whan says will assist him in finishing his degree at NCC with hopes of pursuing a four-year degree.

Jennifer Del Quadro, NCC PTK advisor, said, PTK affords students the opportunity to invest in their community through service and leadership and network with leaders and organizations on and off campus.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation provides $200,000 in funding for the scholarships, with $25,000 set aside for members who are veterans or active members of the United States military. The remaining amount is supported by donations to the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation and provides seven Global Leaders of Promise Scholarships, earmarked for international students.

Two Mcc Students Win $1000 Coca

Metropolitan Community College-Longview students Aedin Jersett and Kealyn Wilkinson have won $1,000 scholarships as 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars.

The two are among 207 Phi Theta Kappa members nationwide to receive the honor. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential. More than 1,300 students applied.

Jersett, a 2021 Lees Summit North High School graduate, is finishing up his MCC associate in arts degree this semester. He will work next spring and start at the University of Missouri next fall. He plans to earn a business degree there, studying economics or finance. As life is always changing, I am not 100% set on what I am going to do for a career, he says. But hes interested in sales and would ultimately like to start his own business.

Wilkinson, of Lone Jack, is a 2021 Oak Grove High School grad. She plays for the MCC Wolves volleyball team and is working on an A.A. degree. She later plans to earn a bachelors in business administration and continue her volleyball career. She might eventually become a CPA.

Senior Zinn Amos Named A Semifinalist In The 2022

Providence Catholic is proud to announce senior Zinn Amos has been named a Semifinalist in the 2022-2023 Coca-Cola Scholars Program.

This is certainly a significant achievement for Zinn, says Mr. Paul Houston, Principal of Providence Catholic. There were 1,557 Semifinalists chosen from more than 91,000 applicants. Zinn was chosen in recognition of his exceptional leadership, academic achievements, and devotion to the community. We are very proud of Zinn and his leadership, both in and out of the classroom.

Semifinalists are in the running for 150 college scholarships worth $20,000. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship program in the United States. With the addition of the 2023 class, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will have provided more than 6,750 Coke Scholars nationwide with over $81 million in scholarships over the course of 35 years.

Zinn is an incredible student, says Kyle Murphy, Counseling Dept., Junior & Senior Counselor at Providence Catholic. Not only does he excel in the classroom, but Ive had the privilege of coaching him on the basketball team where the same dedication and determination he utilizes in the classroom is displayed on the court. We have no doubt he will do great things in college and beyond.

Four Mgccc Students Named Coca

Four Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College students are among the 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Ridge Mathews, Timothy Miller, Kayla Shish, and Anna Valenzuela, all students at the Jackson County Campus, will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Mathews of Gautier is a mechanical engineering major. He is an officer in the Pi Epsilon Chapter of PTK, president of the Student Government Association, and treasurer in the Hispanic American Club.

Receiving this scholarship is a tremendous payoff after hard work, made possible by trusted mentors and friends who helped me put my application together, he said. Im primarily grateful for the recognition it signals but also the fiscal bonus.

A chemical engineering major from Lucedale, Miller is an officer in the Pi Epsilon Chapter of PTK and Student Government Association historian. He is the PTK regional president for Mississippi and Louisiana.

Shish is vice president of the Pi Epsilon Chapter of PTK and a Reflections Team member. She is a mechanical engineering major.

Coca Cola First Generation Scholarship

Are you the first in your family to attend a college or university? The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship program has awarded more than $19 million in scholarships to support students who are the first in their immediate families to go to college. The program has reached more than 1,000 students at approximately 400 U.S. colleges and universities.

Mt. San Jacinto College students Stephanie Daniels and Drashuna Pilcher are two of 207 Phi Theta Kappa students nationwide who have been selected as 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars, each earning $1,000 scholarships.

Daniels is a Hemet resident majoring in Early Childhood Education and Pilcher is a San Jacinto resident majoring in Liberal Arts: Math and Science.

This honor means the world to me, Pilcher said. A quote that I love is Always believe the impossible is possible. My family comes from nothing, and my aim is to stop that generational curse to enhance my familys quality of life. It takes generous individuals like this organization to put faith in us as students to help us achieve our dreams and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity!

After MSJC, Pilcher plans to earn a nursing degree at a four-year university. She then hopes to work in an Intensive Care Unit for a few years and then enroll in the Doctorate in Nursing Anesthesia program at Loma Linda University to work in plastic surgery. She would like to open her own med spa locally.

For Daniels, the plan is to transfer to a University of California system school to earn her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She wants to become a child life specialist, working with children in a hospital.

Qc Student Named Coca

Abigail Tossou, a Quad-Cities Campus student from East Moline, is one of 207 Phi Theta Kappa honor society members named a 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. She received a $1,000 scholarship.

The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Tossou is pursuing an Associate in Science degree.

Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service and leadership potential. The 2022 Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program received more than 1,300 applications and awarded $207,000.

Tossou moved to the United States from Togo, West Africa, in August 2012. While she spoke two languages French and Ewe she was not fluent in English. She started her American education as a fourth grader in the English as a Second Language program at Washington Elementary School in Moline.

In just three years, she passed the ESL exams and moved into regular English and writing classes by seventh grade at Wilson Middle School in Moline. She later attended Moline High School where she ran track and field for four years.

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars.

Molly Robison Is A Coca

Molly Robison of Guilford will receive a $1,000 scholarship for being recognized as one of 207 honor society students as a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar.

The Ivy Tech Community College Lawrenceburg student was chosen by Phi Theta Kappa, a national honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders.

Fairfield Highschool senior awarded $20,000 in prestigious Coca Cola Scholarship

Candice Joseph and Aryka Noble, students at Seminole State College of Florida, are among 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named 2022 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars and will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Joseph is in her last semester to complete an associate degree in criminal justice. After successful graduation, she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration at Seminole State to launch her career in homeland security.

Noble is working on her prerequisite courses for nursing. She ultimately plans to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing that introduces nurses to topics such as patient care technology, research, health promotion, safety and quality within the healthcare system.

The funds provided by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation not only aid college completion, but also give students the opportunity to engage in Society programs and develop leadership skills to become future leaders in their communities.
