Students are not required to submit a FAFSA in order to receive both initial and renewal Bright Futures eligibility. Students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA to learn of potential eligibility for additional state and federal aid.

Submission of Florida Financial Aid Application : The Applicant after obtaining and filling the FFAA form should proceed and submit it. Note that the FFAA form must be submitted by August 31 of the year that you graduate from high school, or you wont be eligible for a scholarship award.

Sit forACT or SAT and Submit Your Scores: After sitting for either ACT or SAT send your scores to any Florida public college or university to ensure that the Florida Department of Education the institution that reviews Scholarship Applications receives them.

High School Transcripts: Your High School Transcripts are very much essential meet with your School Guidance Counsellor to review your application before you submit because It is one Bright future scholarship requirement that cannot be retrieved when submitted.

S To Apply For A Florida Bright Futures Scholarship

Much of this process is automated. So you wont have to do much extra work outside of submitting the Florida Financial Aid Application and keeping an eye on your application to make sure everything is processed correctly.

If all eligibility requirements are met, you can start applying as early as December 1.

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Renewal Requirements

Renewal criteria must be met each academic year. Failure to meet the renewal criteria will result in the loss of your Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. For first year students, summer grades and hours earned after spring evaluation may be used if necessary to meet the scholarship renewal requirements of GPA. A student must ask the Financial Aid Office to submit a grade and hours update to the Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance indicating the adjusted cumulative GPA and/or hours.

If you withdraw from any course that were paid for by a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, you are responsible for repaying the amount paid by the scholarship for those course. If you do not repay for Bright Futures funded classes dropped or withdrawn by the end of the current academic year, you will not be eligible for renewal or funding for the subsequent academic year.
